TWILGM was recorded directly into a tape deck, with no overdubs. The band recorded through a mixing board routed into the deck, so many snippets of conversation were also recorded. The only studio trick on the album is the insertion of dialogue into the song "Keystone," which was recorded without a solo. The band was left with no percussion, so drums were simulated with various household implements, primarily a tupperware box and salt. The track "Salt" is an inside joke based around the lack of percussion. |
