"Cold Open" was a side project of Reid Kerr's, a band formed with other employees of the TV station where he worked. However, their plans for a full European Tour fell through when no one in the band showed up for a second practice, and the band appropriately enough broke up.

They were the subject of a hilarious "Behind The Music" special, which unfortunately never aired.
