The Caucasian Boys
Mistakes Were Made
Recorded August 12-15, 2004 At Matt Pool's House in Bryan

Mistakes Were Made was the second Caucasian Boys album recorded in the calendar year 2004. The album was recorded at Pool's new house in Bryan. The house lay at the end of a retirement cul-de-sac.

Because of the arrangement of the house, the band had an entire room upstairs to arrange their equipment. With the upgrade in equipment, the band no longer needed to use a PA system, so their space and soundprooofing requirements were reduced.

The layout of the house did allow the band to isolate the drums for the first time ever. The set was put in a small, unfinished room two doors away from the rest of the band and the mixing equipment. Tim also procured some professional drum mics and equipment from another band he played in, the Viagrants.

The majority of the album was recorded over less than 48 hours. Reid arrived Thursday after noon. Evatt came at 7:00 on Friday, and Tim at 9:00. Friday night was spent miking the drums, and getting a good sound. After that, the band deemed it too late to record the drums, since even with soundproofing and isolation, there was still a chance of waking up the local chief of police.
