In the summer of 1988, the four men who would form the Caucasian Boys came together for the first time as musicians. The four gathered at the Church of Abundant Life, a barn-shaped church where Tim Roberson's father was preaching. Using the instruments and production equipment kept there, the Boys recorded for the first time. The results weren't exactly memorable. The takes were unmixed, wretched sounding demos. Worse still, some songs had Mary White on them. Still, the album was encouraging enough for the boys to get together again. The album has no redeeming qualities, and is not even clear enough to engage nostalgia. The less said the better. As of 4/04, Jones is the only Caucasian Boys album not to be transferred onto CD. And its odds aren't looking too good. |
