The Handin' Out Hell album was the first Caucasian Boys get-together
in over a year. An earlier meeting was cancelled when Kerr couldn't
make it because of work, and the tracks recorded between the other three
members became the Fifteen Minute Men session.
The album was recorded in the garage of Pool's rented house in College
Station, TX. The band lived in the house while recording. Kerr and Evatt
slept on floors, while Tim got the guest bed. This was allowed because
Tim also made dinner.
The band cleaned out parts of Pool's garage, hollowing out space in
a corner for the drums and placing amps and PA in other parts of the
room.
Pool's garage was surprisingly soundproof, especially with the drums
surrounded by sound-dampening junk.
The actual recording went through Pool's mixer, into the digital four-track
(for compression) and then into Pool's new computer, equipped with Cool
Edit Pro.
During recording, both Evatt and Kerr had cameras on hand, making this
the most-documented album ever for the band.
