The Caucasian Boys
American Standard
Recorded August 11-14, 2005 At Matt Evatt's House on East Street in Houston

The American Standard album was recorded at Matt Evatt's house in Houston. It is the first Caucasian Boys album to feature an actual piano.

Prior to the recording of the album, Reid came to Houston, then the next day travelled with Evatt to Austin to pick up drums, then to College Station to get the recording equipment. The distance covered is mentioned in the Reid and the Riot act song "Your Favorite Memory" when Reid sings "I've put 700 miles behind me since yesterday."

"Lay Your Money Down" was originally an instrumental recorded by Evatt, Kerr, and Roberson, with lyrics added later by Kerr.

Three tracks were recorded for this album that did not make the final cut. Tim and Reid recorded a bare-bones version of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again," with no vocals. There's an acoustic version of "Solid Rock," and also an original called "Slow Motion" which was an intrumental by Evatt/Kerr/Roberson with lyrics added later by Kerr.

"Don't Let Me Change" is an acoustic version of the song originally recorded on the "Eight Twenty Four" album.
